Although you can be assured of effective and advanced treatment for the cavities that result from tooth decay, and the onset of gum disease here at Allstate Dental LLC, we would much rather make it possible for you to avoid such treatment in the first place. This is done through a wise set of strategies that include good nutrition, daily oral hygiene at home, and two trips per year to visit our East Orange dental office for an oral examination, periodic x-rays, and teeth cleanings.
We understand that you probably have a very busy schedule and it’s easy to forget to take care of your teeth and gums as properly as you would like to amid all of the things going on. But when you consider that just a little bit of effort pays such impressive dividends, it’s well worth being reminded of the bullet points of good preventive care. Our East Orange dental office recommends that you limit consumption of sugars and starches to the extent that you can, and that you are comfortable with. They both fuel the development of dental plaque, which along with its hardened form, tartar, erode your tooth enamel and can irritate, inflame, and infect your gum tissue. Whatever plaque does appear can be removed regularly by brushing your teeth at key points during your day. At minimum, brush when you wake up and then again before you go to sleep. It’s best, though, to also do so after meals. Flossing should be done at bedtime. And when you come to our East Orange dental office every six months, you’ll get outstanding preventive care, among which is the early diagnosis and treatment of cavities; along with a teeth cleaning that eliminates tartar buildup, and reverses the signs of gingivitis, the early stage of gum disease.
Make preventive dental care a top priority. Reach out to our office and book your next visit.
